Arsène Wenger “cannot deny” that some people were too quick to write off his side this season.

Arsenal came under fire after dropping out of the top four and struggling for goals in the Premier League. However, Wenger always maintained that his side should only be judged at the end of the season.

And with an FA Cup Quarter Final place assured, a Champions League Quarter Final place within touching distance and no defeat in 17 games, the Frenchman could well be proven right.

“I cannot deny that [we were written off too quickly],” said Wenger at Tuesday’s pre-match press conference. “But it’s down to us now.

“You judge a season at the end of the season and it’s down to us in the coming months to show that we have the necessary quality and that people were too quick to write us off.“
