Fido knows. Cana was never a target. Not nearly enough technical quality for Wenger. De Rossi would be great but he’ll most likely follow Totti and stay true to the Giallorossi. Aqualani looks very promising but not sure if he’d enjoy getting kicked about by Bolton on a rainy Monday night. I’d welcome back Flamini – maybe straight swap Nikki B. But I can’t see it happening. I think the Petit role is there for Denilson to take. He’s built himself up physically this summer and he’s got just as much ability as Melo – who’s overhyped – go on little Deni

1. If Sunderland bought him for only 5m then hi is worth that and not a world-class player like we thought. Although i cant understand why would he leave CL football he has with MArseille and go to Sunderland who struggle to stay in the league.
2. Huntelaar would cost way more than 10m- maybe 15-16 because Real bought him for 18m 6 months ago. MAtuidi would probably cost 7-8m
3. We NEED an experienced DM desperately but I don’t think we need another striker, tall CB would be cool though.

Wenger is class, and knows best. There’s more to consider than a player’s ability when adding to the squad.

You have to laugh at the reaction of some people to the fact that Lorik Cana has signed for Sunderland. It seems most people’s knowledge of him is based on a 5′ YouTube clip of him fouling his way around the pitch like the love child of Robbie Savage and Joey Barton.

agree – wtf!!?? sunderlaand are a crappy small team and even they can get better players that us! CMON ARSENE!!! weve got 25m to spend… SPEND IT!!! Buy huntelaar (13m) and bassong(3m) and then we have 9m left over to buy veloso or another CDM> I wish i could have a talk with arsene and ask him why he isnt signing these players. There is no negatives buying them!!!!!!!!!!
feck sake if we dont sign at least 1 more player we arent winning anything this season and players will leave for sure

Whats all this hype about Cana? I have seen him play numerous times and to be honest he has not impress me at all. I have also watched his youtube clips were it shows his clogger style challenges Savage MK2. We need a De Rossi, Aqualani type player who can actually do domething with the ball other than break bones of opponents

Understanding Wenger is like trying to get water out of a stone! At the end of last season he said he will look for 2-3 additions to the squad. We’ve added one and lost half (Ade), with no potential interests in sight. I still have faith in Le Boss yet a dark cloud is starting to loom over it… it gonna be a very anxious 3-4 weeks for us Gooners

Is very bad for us because we nead one Striker and midfielder and it cost us nothing to spend 20million out of 25million we sell Adebayo to buy Quality player because now most of arsenal former player are saying that Man city is going to take our position this have to change wenger decision to buy quality striker and midfielder and all arsenal fans want that i believe with that we are going to lift the cup next season from Nigeria.

I was just as surprised as you were . Why would Cana go to Sunderland if he had an opportunity to play in the first Arsenal team . He would have been mad . The only possible explanation is that Wenger didn’t bid for him .

And let’s face it , 5m is the smallest price you can imagine for a world class CDM . If Eboue is rated at 8m , this guy should have been rated at 16 . Arsenal won’t win the league next season with the current squad , IMHO , but I’m a pessimist person so you never know .

I would like Flamini and Hleb back though .
