What Arsenal players will be at the world cup this summer and what are their team's chances of progressing?

This summer sees South Africa host the most prestigious footballing trophy there is: The World Cup. The competition hosts the most talented footballers in the world with the likes of Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo (although we hate to admit it!) and Kaka all playing for their respective countries. But, which Arsenal players will be on show to the world and what teams will we be watching them playing in? What are the chances of any of those teams progressing to the knockout stages of the competition?

So from the list above we have a total of 12 players who will be going to the World Cup this summer – it will be interesting seeing how they do on the World Cup stage. Can Van Persie score the first goal for Holland or will Cesc Fabregas provide the first assist for David Villa for Spain? I will be glued to the tele to find out and I will be placing a few bets on them as well.

World Cup Football betting sites like Totesport will be offering loads of ways to place World Cup bets and that site is really easy to use. They offer post markets, weekly and daily coupons as well as the in-play options that allow fans to bet while a match is in progress. Not only that, but there is also a great section featuring statistics on the teams and players on the Totesport online betting website. So why not check out the stats on the Arsenal players and plan your World Cup betting tactics for the summer?

Why I really hate international breaks and news on Theo Walcott's return for Arsenal.

Hello people hope you all are having good days without any Arsenal news because it has been very boring for a few days on the Arsenal front, due to the international breaks no doubt. But before I go into that there is some positive news regarding Walcott:

The official website has said he is due to back after this weeks international break versus Croatia but in my opinion I doubt he will figure against Man City, seeming the importance of the game and risking him would not be worth it.

Why I hate interntional breaks

I really do get bored on the breaks for games for your country simply because it means Arsenal are not playing and aren’t in the news. It’s very boring to read about how England have beat Slovenia 2-1 and how a penalty that is totally insignificant in the scheme of things makes 3 days news for a bored journalist. I’d rather read about club stories and transfer gossip (even if 95% is total rubbish) because it gives you something to hope for and support.

Also watching England play and most other national sides with the exception of Spain and Brazil, is very boring simply because the style of football is simply not pleasing on the eye. Watching Arsenal is great because the ball is zipped around the field at great pace and we are always looking to attack. With England this is not the case and you find yourself nodding off throughout matches.

Don’t get me wrong when big tournaments like the world cup and Euro’s are on it’s good fun but watching England this week won’t give me the same feeling coming home as waiting to see Arsenal.

Anyone else share my view?

Gary has been working with the Irish national rugby union side for several years, and has also joined the British Lions squad on tour something he will be doing once more at the end of the football season when they visit South Africa.

Arsenal FC's up and coming players who are all curenntly playing reserve football or laon football for Arsenal FC, inclduing Nacer Barazite of Derby, Nordveit and Coqueiln as well as Fran Merida

Well today yet again I watched the really good Nacer Barazite play for Derby County versus Man Utd in the FA Cup and previously in the Carling cup. He plays right midfield and zips along the wings with great control and speed, thus turning the likes of Darren Fletcher insides out! In the future I think he’ll become a really good player for Arsenal, maybe like freddie Lungberg or probably better.

We have alot of these players out on loan not only in England which your probably not aware of. Therefore I have decided to make a list of all possible Arsenal greats who are currently very young, here they are:

Nacer Barazite:

Name: Nacer Barazite

Born: May 27, 1990 Arnhem, Holland

Position: Midfielder

Arsenal Debut: Sheffield United (a) Carling Cup October 31, 2007 Won 3-0

Nacer Barazite

Havard Nordtveit

Name: Havard Nordtveit

Born: June 21, 1990 Vats, Norway

Position: Defender

Previous Club(s): Vats 94, Skjold IL, FK Haugesund

Joined Arsenal: July 03, 2007

Arsenal beat off competition from a host of top European clubs to secure Havard’s signature in summer 2007 from Norwegian First Division side FK Haugesund. He made nine league appearances for them in 2007, and upon arriving at Arsenal he was handed the captain’s armband by Neil Banfield in the Reserve League South’s opening rubber against Fulham – a sign of the regard in which he is held. The all-action centre-half led by example with a series of commanding and dependable performances at the back and notched his first goal for the Club in a 3-2 defeat at home to Birmingham Reserves.

Nordveit

Francis Coquelin

Name: Francis Coquelin

Born: May 13, 1991

Position: Midfielder

Joined Arsenal: July 22, 2008

Arsenal Debut: Sheffield Utd (h) Carling Cup September 23, 2008 Won 6-0

Francis arrived at Arsenal from French second division side Laval during the summer and made an instant, and impressive, impact as a second-half substitute in the pre-season curtain-raiser at Barnet.

Francis Coquelin

Fran Merida

Name: Fran Merida

Born: March 04, 1990 Barcelona, Spain

Position: Midfielder

Previous Club(s): Barcelona

Joined Arsenal: January 10, 2007

Arsenal Debut: Newcastle United (h) Carling Cup September 25, 2007 Won 2-0

A creative, highly technical central or left-sided midfielder, Fran has made a huge impact following his arrival at Arsenal from Barcelona in the summer of 2006. In his first season the young Spaniard made 33 appearances, scoring nine times in the Academy and Reserves. He was called upon by Spain for the Uefa Under-17 Championship in May 2007, where he played a key role in the Iberians’ triumph, creating the only goal in the Final against the Three Lions.

He returned to England to make his first team debut in the home Carling Cup win over Newcastle, and in January he was sent on loan to Real Sociedad in Spain. He helped Sociedad maintain a promotion push until the end of the campaign.

Fran Merida

Well thats it folks, I hope you’ve taken the time to read this because it took me a while to do! Anyway some really bright stars we have there and if some don’t mek it for Arsenal then I’m sure they’ll all play good quality Camionship football or even Premier league.

Well what a dreadful game for England fans (including myself) yesterday. We really were taught a lesson in how to play the beautiful game; many of the Spain players took the ball under pressure with much skill and returned great passes back to their team mates. This is not what can be said fro our players, we tried very hard to break through a resilient Spanish midfield but he likes of Xavi and Alonso held up, unlike England’s Carrick and Lampard.

Spain really did play well creating everything from the back with the 2 CB’s spreading the play wide and moving on. All the England backs did was give the ball away! So overall the first really tough opponent we have faced under Capello but not a good game!

Well even being an Arsenal fan I still enjoyed David Beckham getting his 108th cap for England – he was the only one showing an agression really to win, so to hiom I say well played. Anyone else agree?

Let’s hope betters to come – and I’m sure it will!
