Arsenal appoint new club doctor

Well not really that intereresting news but Arsenal have appointed a new club doctor; Gary O’Driscoll, replacing Ian Beasley, who has taken up a role within the England national setup.

Gary has been working with the Irish national rugby union side for several years, and has also joined the British Lions squad on tour something he will be doing once more at the end of the football season when they visit South Africa.

The up and coming talents of Arsenal FC

Well today yet again I watched the really good Nacer Barazite play for Derby County versus Man Utd in the FA Cup and previously in the Carling cup. He plays right midfield and zips along the wings with great control and speed, thus turning the likes of Darren Fletcher insides out! In the future I think he’ll become a really good player for Arsenal, maybe like freddie Lungberg or probably better.

We have alot of these players out on loan not only in England which your probably not aware of. Therefore I have decided to make a list of all possible Arsenal greats who are currently very young, here they are:

Nacer Barazite:

  • Name: Nacer Barazite

  • Born: May 27, 1990 Arnhem, Holland

    Position: Midfielder

Arsenal Debut: Sheffield United (a) Carling Cup October 31, 2007 Won 3-0

Havard Nordtveit

    Name: Havard Nordtveit

Born: June 21, 1990 Vats, Norway

    Position: Defender

Previous Club(s): Vats 94, Skjold IL,  FK Haugesund

    Joined Arsenal: July 03, 2007

Arsenal beat off competition from a host of top European clubs to secure Havard’s signature in summer 2007 from Norwegian First Division side FK Haugesund. He made nine league appearances for them in 2007, and upon arriving at Arsenal he was handed the captain’s armband by Neil Banfield in the Reserve League South’s opening rubber against Fulham – a sign of the regard in which he is held. The all-action centre-half led by example with a series of commanding and dependable performances at the back and notched his first goal for the Club in a 3-2 defeat at home to Birmingham Reserves.

Francis Coquelin

    Name: Francis Coquelin

    Born: May 13, 1991

    Position: Midfielder

    Joined Arsenal: July 22, 2008

Arsenal Debut: Sheffield Utd (h) Carling Cup September 23, 2008 Won 6-0

Francis arrived at Arsenal from French second division side Laval during the summer and made an instant, and impressive, impact as a second-half substitute in the pre-season curtain-raiser at Barnet.

Fran Merida

    Name: Fran Merida

Born: March 04, 1990 Barcelona, Spain

    Position: Midfielder

    Previous Club(s): Barcelona

    Joined Arsenal: January 10, 2007

Arsenal Debut: Newcastle United (h) Carling Cup September 25, 2007 Won 2-0

A creative, highly technical central or left-sided midfielder, Fran has made a huge impact following his arrival at Arsenal from Barcelona in the summer of 2006. In his first season the young Spaniard made 33 appearances, scoring nine times in the Academy and Reserves. He was called upon by Spain for the Uefa Under-17 Championship in May 2007, where he played a key role in the Iberians’ triumph, creating the only goal in the Final against the Three Lions.

He returned to England to make his first team debut in the home Carling Cup win over Newcastle, and in January he was sent on loan to Real Sociedad in Spain. He helped Sociedad maintain a promotion push until the end of the campaign.

Well thats it folks, I hope you’ve taken the time to read this because it took me a while to do! Anyway some really bright stars we have there and if some don’t mek it for Arsenal then I’m sure they’ll all play good quality Camionship football or even Premier league.
