Melo appears to be gone so who should Arsenal sign? Arsenal-highlights finds out..

So after a long week of Melo will sign and Melo won’t it appears now conclusively that Juve have struck a deal and Arsenal can’t financially and won’t match it. So this leaves the door open for the question who will we attempt to sign now, after our main target has moved.. I shall discuss:

Blaise Matuidi

This transfers seems to be done on the evidence of things; he is apparently in England, according to Sky Sports news and his current club St Etienne have signed Fernande’s from Man City (Central Defensive Midfielder) and appear to be looking for another defensive minded player, from Greece somewhere. Therefore seeming Wenger tried signing him last summer it appears conclusive the deal should be struck.

Name: Blaise Matuidi

Nation: France

Height: 1.75 metres

Weight: 70 kg

Age: 22

Current Club: St Etienne

Cost: £2.5 – £4 million

Transfer probability: 9/10

Is he a good signing in the circumstances?

NO. I am not saying he isn’t a good player because he is and he will be one of the best. But in our current situation we need a player who can come in and do the job without having to learn their trade. Matuidi is only 22 so lacks that vital experience we need. For the long term he would be a great signing, but in our current situation no.

Gökhan Inler

He is a solid defensive midfielder with not alot else to offer. A good player who will fill in the role we need very well. Don’t expect bombing runs and stunning long shots because you won’t get that but in our position a good signing.

Name: Gokham Inler

Nation: Switzerland

Height: 1.83 metres

Weight: 80kg

Age: 25

Current club: Udinese

Price: £10 – 15 million

Transfer probability: 6/10

Is he a good signign in our position?

Yes. If we got him he would solve the problem we have with no strings attached. Liverpool appear to be interested which doesn’t help. Whether Wenger would want to pay such a asking price is another issue though.

Lorik Cana

Srong, tall and very hard tackling CDM. Current captain of Marseille but has said publicly he is open to a move. Technically he is not the best player but it would give teams playign Arsenal the scare factor again. He is 6ft 2 and won’t shy away from anything. Maybe what we need in disguise?

Name: Lorik Cana

Nation: Albania

Height: 1.86 metres

Weight: 77kg

Age: 25

Current Club: Olympique Marseille

Price: £7 – 11 million

Transfer probability: 7/10

Is he a good signign in our position?

Hmmm tough but I’ll say Yes. Technically he won’t give you stunning 40 yards passes through like maybe Melo would of, but there is no stronger tackler than him and he would put off any striker against him.

Miguel Veloso

A decent player but I’m not sure Wenger is a huge fan of him. He is desperate for a move but being the same type of player as Matuidi I don’t see anything materializing.

Name: Miguel Veloso

Nation:Portugal

Height: 1.81 metres

Weight: 79kg

Age: 23

Current Club: Sporting Lisbon

Price: £8 – 12 million

Transfer possibility: 6/10

Is he a good signing in our position?

Yes. In my opinion he would be a better signing than Matuidi and would be worth the extra money. He could do the job and form a good partner ship with Cesc. He also has good technical ability, which is generally a massive plus for Wenger.

To Conlude….

Personally I would like Wenger to sign Inler seeming he fits the bill well, if not Inler I am not to sure but it’s pretty certain we are going to sign Matuidi so that leaves the other two out. Whats your opinions?

Arsenal have until Friday to make melo decision

The news coming out of Fiorentina today is that Arsenal have until Friday to finalise a deal if they wish to sign Felipe Melo from them. Juventus talks have collapsed after Marco Marchionni’s refused to sign for Fiorentina on the deal they offered him. To add to this Fiorentina’s supporters staged a  protest that one of their best players was being sold to a bitter rival, consequently with this in mind Fiorentina want to sell to Arsenal and have set a Friday deadline date.

It is thought Wenger wants to offer Eboue and Senderos with £5 million cash but Fiorentina only want Eboue with a sum more like £15 million. Some how I don’t see it happening myself; seeming Wenger looks set to sign Blaise Matudi and that he believes Melo on his own is only worth£14 – 15 million.

We’ll all have to wait and see but you never know. Turn Friday melo could be an Arsenal man!

Arsenal close in on Matuidi signing; plus other transfer news + Join our fantasy league!

Good morning to everyone reading this post (or should I say good day if you are reading it after 12:00). There have been many rumours and gossip flying around today though a few appear to be substantial, which is quite good. I will digress:

Blaise Matuidi

Many of the morning’s papers and various other media have been reporting that Blaise Matuidi is to sign for Arsenal for a fee ranging from £2.5 – £4 million. He is 22 years of age and plays defensive midfield. After reports on “Sky Sports News” about Matuidi being in England, London it looks pretty sure we should get this one. Wenger clearly sees him the man for the future becasue at only 22 he is not the expierienced player we need. I am still uncertain though to why we would buy this player if we are attempting to bring in Felipe Melo and already have a promising CDM in Alex Song.

Name: Blaise Matuidi

Age: 22 years

Postion: Central Defensive Midfielder

Current Club: St.Etienne

Price: £3 million

Transfer possibility: 8/10

Felipe Melo

New reports are varied on this story, although last night Sky Sports reported that the deal had somewhat broke down between Juventus and Fiorentina due to Marco Marchionni’s (the player Juve are willing to trade with cash) wage demands which Fiorentina won’t pay. This would still leave the door open very slightly for Arsenal still having a chance to sign Melo.

Name: Felipe Melo

Age: 26

Postion: Central Defenisve midfielder

Current Club: Fiorentina

Price: £21.4 million buy out clause/£15 million with Eboue/£8 million with Eboue and Senderos

Transfer Possibility: 6/10

Messi wants Fabregas at Barca

Lionel Messi has announced that he wants Barcelona to sign Cesc Fabregas and Mascherano (Liverpool). I think he can Get Lost! Well take Liverpool’s man but not ares.
