Arsenal Have Mark Lawrenson’s support!

Well this is a good breeze coming through the way of Mark Lawrenson, the BBC match of the day football pundit. He has said Arsenal will qualify in the fourth spot ahead of Villa and also how he believes we will win a trophy this season!

This is rather upbeat from a man on MOTD (Match of the day) who generally is criticising, so I’m rather pleased about his comments.

If we beat Blackburn today we will go fourth for at least 24 hours and then tomorrow for the first time I will be cheering on Spurs to beat Villa. Unfortunate news is that Eduardo is out for the game today due to a slight groin strain but nothing serious, only out for  this game.

VIDEO: Arsenal V Burnley 3-1 FA Cup video highlights and match reports

Well I went to today’s game and was really thrilled with the performance of all of our players. All goals were really well taken but the only regret was that we didn’t score more with a few other good chances we created; like Walcotts 1 on 1 and Van Persies volley. Oh well I would of definitely taken 3-0 at the start of the match.

Arsenal V Cardiff 4-0 – Match Highlights, reports and reviews

What a game people, havent seen Arsenal play football like they did yesterday for absolutely ages. Carlos Veal showed why he should be in the first team with great darting runs through the middle and down the flanks, Kolo Toure and Gallas looked really secure at the back and for once Denilson played smoothly with most of his passes going to the right team player. Finally the best part; Eduardo! What a great game, coming back from a year out and getting two goals, well things are looking up for us now with Eduardo bac, Fabregas and Walcott nearly ready and Rosicky a few weeks after them, then on Saturday we have the delights of Arshavin to play! I’m excited!

Anyway here are the:

Wenger’s view on the match

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on Eduardo:
“He had a good game for his first game back. When you have such a long time out, it’s difficult to be patient, to come in every day and see everyone else play. He had to deal with a lot of frustrations.

“I believe – as any striker – he can contribute and help us to win games. He has the perfect spirit, he is talented and is intelligent.”

Wenger open about attacking options – Thank goodness

Arsène Wenger believes that Nicklas Bendtner might not be the only beneficiary of Emmanuel Adebayor’s three-week absence.

The Togolese frontman was stretchered off after 38 minutes of Arsenal’s goalless draw with Tottenham last Sunday leading many to assume that Bendtner will fill the void in the coming matches.

However, Wenger has hinted that it might not be that straightforward, with the likes of Carlos Vela, Eduardo and even Andrey Arshavin (ineligible for Monday) all pushing for starting places.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup replay with Cardiff, the manager was tight-lipped about his selection policy, insisting that the Dane is one of a number of players who could feature in Adebayor’s absence.

“It is not completely decided who will play yet because we have many possibilities we can try,” said Wenger. “At the moment it is very open.

“It’s not only [an opportunity] for Nicklas Bendtner. I believe he has had plenty of opportunities this year; if you look at the number of games he has started you will be surprised.”

This is good news because it hints that Carlos Vela may get a atsrta which is much better than Bendter and also that Eduardo mya play even though newspapers are saying it’s not likely
