Walcott in contract stalemate with Arsenal

Theo Walcott’s representatives are playing a game with Arsenal. The press (and many individuals) report Arsenal are being lackadaisical and not efficient renewing his contract, although ultimately the final playing card lays with Wenger’s value of the player. He believes he isn’t worth the £100,000 a week his agents want, unfortunately fees Liverpool and Man City (the interested clubs) will pay. It is likely he’ll be sold in January as a result. Should you feel otherwise get over to Betfair Football and place your bets.

We offered a minimal raise from the initial £75,000 offer, to £77,000 which was duly rejected out of hand. Theo’s attitude however, has been brilliant and along with his form it’ll be very hard to stomach should we lose another good asset. If Wenger doesn’t feel he’s worth £100,000 a week he needs to go and find a player who is, to replace him. Whether that happens remains to be seen in January…

Until then, we have a string of games that need to be won against West Brom, Reading and Wigan. These performances will be a huge test of how truly mentally strong the players are, without Wenger shoving it down our throats. Apparently, Steve Bould and Wenger haven’t been getting on and there are backroom staff issues with this. The easiest way to sort this, are the players going out every Saturday and giving performance after performance.

Tomas Rosicky’s return midweek was very encouraging. If he can stay fit for the rest of the season, he offers a drive and momentum only a few players have – Jack Wilshere one of them. His turning on the ball, reminds me of Cazrola – whilst his passing and dribbling, a mix between Wilshere and the Spaniard. Whether Wenger plays him tomorrow will depend on fitness, although expect a substitute appearance at minimum. After his new contract, last January we need him to stay fit.
